Jagrup Brar, MLA for Surrey-Fleetwood, will join us to discuss his month spent living
on the monthly welfare rate of $610, what he learned and next steps.

10:35 Barbara Fitzgerald, Developmental Pediatrician
Barbara will share stories of the impacts of child poverty and the role of public policy drawn
from her experiences working with families in inner city schools and neighbourhoods.

How can First Call support the increased public awareness of the inadequacy of welfare rates, and the impacts of claw backs on parents and children, with concrete action and policy advocacy?

Coalition meetings take place on the second Wednesday of every month from September to June. Meetings are held at the BC Teachers' Federation, 550 W. 6th Ave. in Vancouver.
